It has been 30 anniversary after the original Toy Story movie was released, launching the animation giant as a leading animation studio and introducing audiences to iconic figures like the cowboy doll (Tom Hanks) and Buzz Lightyear (Tim Allen), who are now famous worldwide.

In 2026, the fifth installment is set to arrive. The initial preview for Toy Story 5 appeared recently, providing a glimpse into the storyline but keeping viewers wondering how it will resolve the conclusion of Toy Story 4.

Bonnie's New Toy: A Frog-Shaped Tablet Frightens the Toys

In the teaser shows Bonnie — who inherited Andy's toys when he left for college — getting a brand new plaything, one that terrifies the familiar toy group. Bonnie gets her first tablet computer, and she is thrilled about it.

Theoretically, the frog-shaped tablet will come to life just like Bonnie's other toys. However, the toys appear to consider it as a threat intending to supplant them, which it probably is.

The Cowboy's Comeback: Unanswered Questions from Toy Story 4

An element the teaser doesn't touch on is what Woody is returned with his friends in Bonnie's room. The end of Toy Story 4 saw him embark on a fresh journey with the shepherdess (Annie Potts), journeying with a fair and assisting giveaway items locate loving owners.

Surely, the filmmakers will address the aftermath of Toy Story 4 in the film. Seeing him show up in Bonnie's room unexpectedly is a little strange, however. It also makes us wonder whether Bo Peep will have come back with him. And what about the stuntman toy (the star)?

Continuity from the Last Installment

Fortunately, some elements are carrying over from the earlier movie. The last thing Woody did before departing for his new life was pass his symbol of authority to Jessie (the voice actor), leaving her as the leader of Bonnie's bedroom. The clip displays the insignia pinned to her shirt.

Hopefully she is remains the driving force among the group.
